Coming into fall camp, sophomore Sean Glennon was in a battle with fellow sophomore Cory Holt and redshirt Freshman Ike Whitaker for the starting quarterback position. Well it did not take Virginia Tech
Coach Frank Beamer long to name a starter. Over the weekend Beamer announced that Glennon will be the Hokies' starting QB when they open the season September 2 against Northeastern.
Tech fans are hoping that Glennon will have them forgetting the nightmare that was Marcus Vick. Vick was thrown off the team last year after a few violations and really never lived up to his potential. In mop up duty in 2004, Glennon completed eight of 11 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns. Beamer will use the rest of camp to find out who will be backing up Glennon.
