After a few days of not knowing how his backup QB stood, Nebraska coach Bill Callahan got his answer yesterday. He learned that his backup, highly touted back up quarterback
Harrison Beck, decided to leave the team.
Beck was a top recruit in the Cornhuskers 2005 class and chose Nebraska over Florida, Florida State, and Miami. Beck appeared in one game last year. He came in for injured Zac Taylor and drove the team down the field for the winning touchdown against Kansas State. No word on where he plans to transfer.
Here is Harrison Beck's official statement from his website:
I would like to thank all the Husker Fans who have supported me these last 2 years. I will always remember all the positive, everyday people I talked to and encountered during my time in Nebraska.
After much thought, and not taken lightly, I am leaving my friends and home here.
Thanks again to all the everyday fans I met and talked to, but it's time to move on.
