Beck to North Carolina State
The Raleigh News & Observer is reporting that former Nebraska quarterback Harrison Beck will transfer to North Carolina State. Beck was a top-10 quarterback recruit when he joined the Cornhuskers last season, but he apparently grew tired of not getting enough reps as the back-up for starter Zac Taylor, so he abruptly left the team last week.
Beck had planned to redshirt last season as a true freshman, but he was forced into action when Taylor was injured against Kansas State. He played well and led the NU to an exciting 27-25 win over the KSU. The 18-year old quarterback will be inelgible during the 2006 season due to his transfer, but he will have three remaining seasons to play for the Wolfpack. NCSU head coach Chuck Amato had no comment today regarding Beck.
