James Cox First year Colorado head coach Dan Hawkins made his first big decision naming James Cox the starting quarterback. Cox beat out Junior Brian White for the job. The second scrimmage for the Buffaloes seemed to be the deal breaker as Cox completed 14-of-29 passes for 198 yards and no interceptions.
