Good morning campers, are you ready for two-a-days starting this weekend? We've had to keep Dr. Sak busy, he has his stopwatch out and expects us to run the 40. Anyway, some things making news across the country this morning... We've told you about the ongoing saga of Miami Hurricane LB Willie Williams. First, he was granted his transfer on July 11. Then, Yahoo got wind of him going to West Virginia. That, was almost immediately denied by the Mountaineers the next day. Now, according to the Miami Herald, he will not be returning to the Hurricanes either. Rotoworld, (and I), look for him to take his act to a D I-AA school this fall. The search for Chad Henne's back up continues this season in Ann Arbor, the Ann Arbor News, reports that Antonio Bass' knee injury will keep the QB/WR on the sidelines for the entire season. There is a difference of opinion between Wolverine head coach Lloyd Carr and the Bass family on how serious the injury is. Carr feels the injury is career threatening, while the family feels he will be ready for the start of the 2007 season. File this last one under the "Tales of the Bizarre". Former Southern Cal DB Brandon Ting, who left the program along with his brother Ryan to focus on medical school, has reportedly tested positive for steroids. In a strange twist reported by the Los Angeles Times(registration required), Brandon and Ryan's father Arthur is an orthopedic surgeon who has operated on athletes in the Bay Area including, (drum roll please), Barry Bonds. In fact, the elder Dr. Ting has testified in the Federal grand jury investigating the Giants slugger.
