Mr. Koetter Picks Starting QB...again

Written by In The Bleachers on .

Rudy Carpenter On Friday Arizona State Head Coach thought he had it all figured out, he named Senior Sam Keller starting QB in hopes he could lead the Sun Devils to a Pac 10 title. Well Sunday he had a total change of heart. Koetter decides that Keller is no longer the starting QB, and elevated sophomore Rudy Carpenter to the starter position. To no surprise that did not sit well with Keller and he is looking to transfer. Both Keller and Carpenter saw action last year. Keller played the first seven games before a hand injury ended his season, Carpenter played the rest of the year. In 2005, Keller completed 58 percent of his passes (155-for-264) for 2,165 yards and 20 touchdowns, with nine interceptions. Carpenter completed 68 percent (156-for-228) for 2,273 yards and 17 touchdowns, with just two interceptions.
