Panthers Duo Returns after Leave

Written by In The Bleachers on .

Pittsburgh Panthers' head coach Dave Wannstedt can breathe a sigh of relief as two of his recruits from last year's class returned back to the team. McKenzie Mathews from Syracuse New York, and T.J. Porter from Florida, left the team earlier in the week because of a bout of homesickness. They were welcomed back by both their teammates and coaches as they joined practice yesterday. McKenzie could play a key part in this year's defense since the Panthers are in need of some big defensive linemen. Porter also is fighting for a spot in the two deep at WR. As you will remember last year the Panthers lost their #1 receiver Greg Lee to the NFL a year early. Pitt opens up their season September 2, at home against Virginia.
