Where Will Bomar Land?

Rhett Bomar  Rhett Bomar While one former Big 12 quarterback, Harrison Beck, quickly found a new home at North Carolina State, another, Rhett Bomar is still sifting through his options before making a decision.  Earlier in the week, SI On Campus reported that the former Oklahoma University starting quarterback had been contacted by Texas Christian, Houston, and North Texas. Houston Chronicle writer Ronnie Turner confirms that Bomar did meet with University of Houston head coach Art Briles and toured the program's facilities on Tuesday. Bomar to Houston would make a lot of sense, as the Cougars' current starting quarterback, Kevin Kolb, is a senior playing in his final season.  Bomar, if he can avoid an NCAA-imposed suspension, could move in as Houston's starting quarterback next season, with three seasons of eligibility remaining. He would have to sit out this season, as NCAA rules stipulate. Sam Houston State, according to Turner, is also a very real option for the Grand Prairie, Texas-native. As it is a D1-AA school, transferring to Sam Houston State would allow Bomar to play this season.
