#24 9-4 (6-3), 3rd Pacific-10 vs 8-4 (4-4), 2nd Big 12 - North Division Oregon State started out the season with a whimper, losing 3 of their first 5 games. But in their next six they only lost 1 and had victories over USC, Arizona State, Hawaii, and Oregon, all bowl teams. This will be the Beavers' sixth bowl game in eight years. Matt Moore is the leader at quarterback and is one of the main reason the Beavers were able to pull off the upset of USC. This season Moore has thrown for 2666 yards and 14 touchdowns. Yvenson Bernard is the workhorse in the backfield rushing for over 1200 yards and 12 touchdowns. By far Moore's favorite target is Sammie Stroughter who has 1206 yards receiving and 4 touchdowns. The Beavers' defense pulled in an impressive game against Hawaii, holding an offense that averaged well over 40 points per game to just 32. Missouri has had the total opposite of a season that Oregon State did. The Tigers began the year winning their first 6 games but proceeded to lose 4 of their final 6 games. There is no lack of firepower on the Tigers offense as they average over 400 yards per game. Chase Daniel has had a great year replacing Brad Smith. Daniel has thrown for over 3100 yards with 26 touchdowns and only 10 interceptions. His favorite target is William Franklin as he caught 48 balls for 829 yards and 6 touchdowns. Daniel also had over 300 yards rushing but Tony Temple is the main man in the backfield with 869 yards and 5 touchdowns. Missouri has some impressive offensive statistics but I really think that they racked them up against much lesser opponents. When it was time to play the big boys, the Tigers just folded. Oregon State on the other hand got better as the season started and beat 4 bowl teams in the last half of the year. I think this will be a close game but in the end I think the Beavers come out on top.
