9-3 (0-0) Independents (I-A) vs #23 9-3 (5-3), 2nd Atlantic Coast - Atlantic Even though their coach Paul Johnson is being linked to a few other coaching jobs, the Navy Midshipmen are making their fourth straight bowl appearance. Their opponent, Boston College, is coming into the game sporting a new coach and the nations longest bowl winning streak at 6. Navy went 1-3 against bowl teams while Boston College went 6-2. Navy is the nations leader in rushing yards per game and sports the dangerous triple option attack. The Midshipmen were already without their QB Brian Hampton, but in their game against Army they lost their 2nd leading rusher Adam Ballard. At quarterback Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada stepped in for Hampton after the Rutgers game and did a good job, and picking up the rushing slack for Ballard will be Reggie Campbell who averages 7 yards per carry. Boston College had everything in place to play in the ACC title game, but a late season loss to Miami put a damper on those plans. The Eagles have some nice wins over Clemson and Virginia Tech this season. They are lead by Junior QB Matt Ryan who threw for 2700 yards with 14 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions but he struggled down the stretch. L.V. Whitworth is the Eagles' leading rusher with 790 yards and 4 touchdowns. This is a game that on paper Boston College looks like they should win with ease, but it is never easy to defend the triple option attack. I really believe that Paul Johnson is the right person for the job at Navy and he would be smart to stay there after this season. The Eagles, still reeling from Tom O'Brien leaving, will be coached by defensive coordinator Frank Spaziani for this game only until Jeff Jagodzinski takes over after this game. I am going to take Navy in this one because of their option attack. I think Matt Ryan has been struggling and the Midshipmen will stop the nation's longest bowl winning streak and take their own to 3 in a row.
