Louisville's Petrino Signs 10 year Extension

Written by In The Bleachers on .

In 2003 Bobby Petrino was involved in a debacle that had him making a back room deal to move to Auburn before the season was even over. A few years later just a few days after signing a new deal he interviewed for the Notre Dame and LSU jobs. This time the Louisville Cardinals hope that this most recent deal is enough to keep Petrino’s eyes from wandering anymore. Sources close to Louisville are stating that Petrino has signed a new 10 year deal that will begin with his salary at $1.6 million this year and ramp up to $2.6 million in 2015. The total value of this contract is said to be worth $25.5 million. In his 3 years with the Cardinals, Petrino is 29-8 and this year boasts a possible Heisman Trophy candidate in QB Brian Brohm.
