Northwestern Names New Coach

At a press conference later today the Northwestern Wildcats are set to name linebackers' coach Pat Fitzgerald as their new head coach. Fitzgerald is 31 and becomes the youngest coach in Division I-A. In 1995 and 1996 Fitzgerald won the Chuck Bednarik award as the nations best defensive player. Not only was Fitzgerald the linebackers' coach for the Wildcats he also served as a key recruiter. He was noted by many to be one of the best in the nation.
