Not So Fast: Rich Rod Says No to Williams

Written by In The Bleachers on .

We reported yesterday that former Miami Hurricanes' linebacker Willie Williams was set to enroll at West Virginia University, but he must not have ran it past the Mountaineers’ head coach first. A few notable sites including Yahoo Sports were saying that Williams to WVU was a done deal. According to the WVGazette, Williams called Coach Rodriguez to express his interest in joining the team, but the head coach respectfully declined. The Tennessee Volunteers, who also caught the eye of Williams, have denied getting involved with him. Right now it looks like the Louisville Cardinals will be the next stop for Williams. I believe that with his criminal background, Williams is going to have a difficult time finding a big name school to take another chance on him. Wherever in Division 1-A he ends up, he will be sitting out this season due to NCAA transfer rules.
