Dan McCarney
(Des Moines Register) Dan McCarney resigned tonight after twelve years as the head coach of the Iowa State Cyclones, according to the Des Moines Register. McCarney, the longest tenured coach in the Big 12, will finish the last two games of the season before his resignation takes effect. He has a 55-84 record with the Cyclones including a 3-7 record this season, made worse with an 0-6 conference record. Three years remain on his contract which was bought out for $675,000. McCarney joins John L. Smith at Michigan State and North Carolina's John Bunting as coaches who will not return next season.
