More on the Pata Tragedy

This is a time where football is just an afterthought. The friends, family, and teammates of Miami Hurricanes' Bryan Pata must cope with the loss of this young man at such an early age. This is not a political blog so I won't tell you what I think should happen to the killer if he/she is ever found, but whatever it is, it should be severe. According to the Miami Herald, Pata was killed from a gunshot to the head on Tuesday evening. The University has released this official statement:

''Tonight the University of Miami tragically lost a member of our football family, Bryan Pata,'' according to a statement released by UM. ``Bryan was a fine person and a great competitor. He will be forever missed by his coaches and teammates. We offer our thoughts and prayers to his family. Our players are deeply saddened and are grieving. We ask that their privacy be respected in the coming days.
