Bowl Projections, Take 2
So, here we are. That was fast. You know, enough with the small talk, lets go.
January 8
BCS Title Game - Ohio State v. Michigan
Based on the rules of just projecting, I have to go for this game right now, though given one will lose, it seems a little unlikely.
January 7
GMAC Bowl - Southern Miss v. Kent State
I know absolutely nothing about these teams.
January 6
International Bowl - Ohio v. Pittsburgh
I believe in the Wannstache more than I believe in a drunk Frank Solich... that and I want to see the stache more.
January 3
Sugar Bowl - Arkansas v. Notre Dame
The Sugar swoops in to grab Notre Dame, who isn't guaranteed a birth right now, but its Notre Dame.
January 2
Orange Bowl - Clemson v. West Virginia
The Orange grabs the "IT" team with West Virginia, the only BCS conference without a tie-in.
January 1
Fiesta Bowl - Texas v. Florida
The Fiesta is left with grabbing the last at-large team, and that honor falls to Florida.
Rose Bowl - Southern Cal v. Auburn
The Rose gets the first pick after the bowl tie-ins since the lost the Big Ten, but I don't see them getting Notre Dame for a rematch.
Capital One Bowl - LSU v. Wisconsin
Defense wins championships, but does it count if no one is watching?
Outback Bowl - Penn State v. Georgia
Two sub-par QBs and no discernable running games... woo hoo!
Cotton Bowl - Missouri v. Tennessee
MIZZOU would give their left nut to play in the Cotton Bowl.
Gator Bowl - Boston College v. Louisville
Old Big East v. Old CUSA. A battle to the death between the ACC-Big East. I pick death.
December 31
MPC Computers Bowl - Boise State v. Maryland
There's something about the site of Ralph Friedgen on Blue Turf that gets me a little excited. I really want to see a bird take a nose dive into him and get stuck like it went into a carton of jello or something, then they don't find it for 16 years... you know, like how a bird flies into your grill on a long road trip.
December 30
Liberty Bowl - Tulsa v. Kentucky
This game will never happen, but there looks to be a dearth of bowl eligible teams.
Chick-fil-a Bowl - Georgia Tech v. Alabama
If this were 1991, I'd be mildly excited (mainly because the Braves would be in the World Series). As it is, we'll be watching to see Calvin Johnson's last college game, and seeing if he decides to kill Reggie Ball.
Meineke Car Care Bowl - Wake Forest v. Navy
This game would be so cool for many reasons. The first few I can't think of, but if you give me time, I promise to give you some.
Alamo Bowl - Texas A&M v. Iowa
Is anyone else surprised by the Aggies? Is anyone else surprised how overrated Iowa was?
December 29
Insight Bowl - Indiana v. Baylor
My insight is that this game will also not be played.
Sun Bowl - Oklahoma v. Oregon
Can you say, rematch? Most awesome game.... ever!
Music City Bowl - South Carolina v. Virginia Tech
The question is answered.... how would a castrated turkey hold up over 60 minutes against a fighting rooster.
Champs Sports Bowl - Purdue v. Miami
Thug U has to play somewhere, right?
December 28
Holiday Bowl - California v. Nebraska
Aww, shattered dreams. These teams were dreaming of BCS games.
Texas Bowl - Texas Tech v. Rutgers
Because its just stupid if there isn't a team from Texas in the Texas Bowl. Plus, a flock of New Jersey girls visit to see if everything really is bigger in Texas.
Independence Bowl - Oklahoma State v. Vanderbilt
I predict these teams won't make a bowl... which is kind of like going to Shreveport.
December 27
Emerald Bowl - Florida State v. UCLA
Look at the teams, then look at the date. Stop laughing. Seriously.
December 26
Motor City Bowl - Central Michigan v. Michigan State
JL Smith tries to lose the game and all the jobs of the autoworkers in 1 week.
December 24
Hawaii Bowl - Oregon State v. Hawaii
THE BEAVERS ARE LOOSE IN HAWAII, I REPEAT, THE BEAVERS ARE LOOSE IN HAWAII!
December 23
Armed Forces Bowl - Air Force v. UTEP
There has to be at least 1 branch of the Armed Forces in the Armed Forces Bowl
Birmingham Bowl - Houston v. South Florida
If you're reading this, you're far more dedicated than the writer, congratulations.
New Mexico Bowl - Wyoming v. San Jose State
Oh man, Bowl season started, but what about the first few games?
December 22
New Orleans Bowl - Arkansas State v. SMU
Can New Orleans support 2 bowls right now? Nevermind, this one doesn't really count.
December 21
Las Vegas Bowl - Washington State v. BYU
All Cougars, all the time.
December 19
Poinsettia Bowl - TCU v. Washington
Woohoo! Another projection in the bag!!!!!!!!!!!!!
