Scares and Suprises for the Early Starts
A few games are not going...well as expect for some of the favorites. Let's start in Happy Valley...well it should be called Pissed Off Valley right now. Illinois has gone into the half leading the Nittany Lions 9-3. Penn State is playing like a team that doesn't care about winning. Juice Williams, the Illini true freshman QB is having a great game so far in the first half. The Nittany Lions need to find any spark on offense or they are going to have a sad homecoming day.
In Syracuse, the Louisville Cardinals scored a late touchdown to go into the half leading 7-6. Even with Brian Brohm the Cardinals do not look like the team they were at the beginning of the year and if they keep this up there is no way they will be able to beat West Virginia in a few weeks.
With time winding down in the first half Texas is taking it to Nebraska 17-6. Also in a key Big Ten matchup that could decide who goes to the Capital One Bowl, Wisconsin leads Purdue 10-3. In my opinion Wisconsin is vastly underrated with the National Media.
In the SEC Arkansas is having no problems with Ole Miss up 14-0. And in a bit of a shocker in the Big Ten, the Northwestern Wildcats are putting the final nails in John L Smith's coffin as they lead Michigan State 24-3 in Evanston.
