Tiger Hunt
#2 Auburn now has bigger things to worry about than a trip to Glendale, they now look up at new SEC West leader Arkansas as the Razorbacks upset the Tigers 27-10 at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Nursing a seven point lead at the half, Arkansas pulled an Auburn and kept the ball on the ground a total of 45 times in the game, not only keeping the ball away from the Tigers, but scored ten points on long drives to pull the upset.
On a day that saw Arkansas throw only ten times the entire game, it was the Tiger defense that could not stop the Arkansas rushing attack, despite knowing what was coming. Darrin McFadden rushed 28 times for 144 yards, while fellow tailback Felix Jones rushed 13 for 103. They both scored.
The Tigers spent too much time giving up five, six, and seven yards on the ground on first down and they forced Auburn and Brandon Cox to beat the Razorbacks in the air. Cox was sacked five times as they could not use Kenny Irons to open up the passing game.
The BCS picture is now wide open, the LSU-Florida game to follow now has huge implications especially if Florida wins.
