USA Today Top 25 Coaches' Poll Released

Written by In The Bleachers on .

USAToday.com has released its first in-season poll. A few minor changes, but no major shakeups, as the same 25 teams all stayed in the rankings, with just the order changing a bit. Oklahoma, with a closer than expected victory over UAB AND with the voters getting the chance to reassess the Sooners without Rhett Bomar, fell from 5th to 10th in the poll. Miami (FL) and California, the only top 25 teams to lose this past week, fell the furthest. The Hurricanes, who lost a tight game with rival Florida State, fell from 11th to 16th and the Cal Bears, who were blown out by Tennessee, dropped from 12th to 23rd. Notre Dame, off of a shaky performance against what is considered a very average Georgia Tech team, dropped from 3rd into a tie for 5th with West Virginia. Tennessee made the greatest jump, up from 23rd to 16th.  Auburn jumped into the top five, by moving from 6th to 4th and Florida State moved up a spot, into the #10 spot.
