Most remember Ron Powlus, the former Notre Dame Quarterback that ESPN College Football Guru (sorry have to snicker before typing his name) Beano Cook predicted would win the Heisman Trophy 2 or 3 times. He never did win a Heisman, but he did have a successful career at Notre Dame. Before Brady Quinn, Powlus had 20 Notre Dame passing records.

Almost 10 years after his graduation from the Irish, he will be back on the sidelines again...this time as a coach. The
South Bend Tribune is reporting that Powlus will be the new quarterbacks coach for the Fighting Irish. Before this Powlus has spent the past two seasons as ND’s director of personnel development under head coach Charlie Weis.
The other change to the Irish's coaching staff is defensive coordinator Rick Minter will be let go and Corwin Brown will take his place. Brown was a defensive backs coach for the New York Jets.
