When you get right down to it, Florida came prepared, while Ohio State looked completely befuddled by the Florida offense and defense. In the end, the Gators destroyed the Buckeyes 41-14 in the Tostitos National Championship game.

Urban Meyer and his assistants had a near perfect scheme, confounding the Ohio State defense on seemingly every play. Constantly shifting in the backfield and coming out in generally unfamiliar formations, Florida seemed to game 5-7 yards on every play and converted almost every time it was necessary. The Gators used the short route to march down the field to the tune of 5 TD's and 2 FG's.

Meanwhile, the Buckeyes had no answers on offense, mounting only 1 scoring drive after an opening touchdown from Ted Ginn. Having Ginn wuss out and not play the final 50 minutes didn't help their cause, but the blame has to lie on Troy Smith and the OSU front line. Under constant pressure, the Heisman trophy winner had arguably the worst performance of any Heisman winner in recent memory. Smith was 4 of 14 for 35 yards and a pick, with 10 rushes for -29 yards, including 5 sacks. Ohio State set numerous records for futility, totaling just 82 yards of offense the entire game.
There is little doubt that Florida is the national champion for this football season. The Gators are now the reigning champion for both basketball and football, so I'm not alone in asking you to stay the hell away from Gainesville until the end of April. Congratulations to the Florida Gators.
