Operation Pick Em - Week 10 Picks

Written by In The Bleachers on .

A reminder to those following the Pick Em, each of the last 3 weeks a team has won that no one on the Pick Em crew picked. Here are this week's picks. Navy (58%) at Notre Dame (42%) - Dear God have you seen our offense? We gave up 59 to Delaware!. – Adam, Pitch Right - Navy. Okay, I'll bite. Teams have been able to wear down the Irish with persistent running, and no one runs more persistently than the water people. – Jim Gindin, Football Frontier - The misery continues for the Irish as the Midshipmen break their decades long losing streak in the series. –Greg, Average Joe - How much does Chuck Weiss suck? Not this much. ND by 6. – Chris, In The Bleachers - Navy! Please!!!!! Please=me doing a song about Charlie Weiss. – John Radcliff, Bastard Sons of Pinfall Marks - Would it spoil some grand divine plan if Navy were to pull off this win over the Irish and rid the nation of that streak? Would it be too much to ask that a five-game losing streak, the worst in Notre Dame history, be bestowed upon the offensive genius Charlie Weis? Would it be that the world would end? If so, let it, and let Navy win this game. – Jon , Corn Nation - Notre Dame is playing for pride and they’ve had a week off. They won’t face a worse defensive team the rest of the year so this is their week to shine offensively. Navy has to be tight knowing that this is their best chance to win in years. The Irish will be loose and will win at home. – Brian, In The Bleachers Texas (75%) at Oklahoma State (25%) - Texas has been really inconsistent, but they always seem to find a way to beat the Cowboys, no matter how many points they spot them. – Greg, Average Joe - Oklahoma State. After the game, Mike Gundy promises to kick a reporter in a wheelchair. – Jim, Football Frontier - The Cowboys are a much better team at home than on the road. Too bad for Texas they aren’t playing in Austin. – Brian, In The Bleachers -I'll bet $5 Mike Gundy is having an affair with that reporter. Texas isn't really bad enough to lose to Okie State, are they? Texas by 11. – Chris, In The Bleachers - At home, the Cowboys play like MEN, beating a Texas squad that's had a very disappointing season thus far. – Jon, Corn Nation Texas A&M (0%) at Oklahoma (100%) - I'd really like to hear why anyone would pick the Aggies in this game. They weren't a good team before Franchione was exposed as a complete moron. – Jon, Corn Nation - Oklahoma looks like they've righted the ship. Javorskie Lane was once on a ship, but it ended up sinking and killing Leonardo DiCaprio. Sooners by 23. – Chris, In The Bleachers - The 'Fire Fran' chants increase after the Sooners blow them out. – Greg, Average Joe - Perhaps the top passing attack in the country meets a mediocre pass defense. The Aggies were blown out at Texas Tech, this shouldn't be any different. – Jim, Football Frontier Wake Forest (58%) at Virginia (42%) - These teams are absolute clones of each other, so I'll take the home squad. – Jim, Football Frontier - Wake will play conservative so Skinner doesn’t turn the ball over and they will let the defense do the job. The Cavs will lose their second in a row. – Brian, In The Bleachers - Wake Forest -- Wake Forest head coach Jim Grobe could be auditioning for the Nebraska job. – Charlie, In The Bleachers - If you would have told me these two teams would be near the top of the ACC, I would have said "ok, I could see that, the league really sucks right now." Wake by 2. – Chris, In The Bleachers - This will be a great game. I think the Cavaliers pull this one out late. – Greg, Average Joe - Wake Forest, After a rough start, Wake is putting together a pretty good season. Should keep rolling this week. Is Jim Grobe auditioning for the Nebraska job? - Jon, Corn Nation Rutgers (58%) at Connecticut (42%) - Rutgers, no fake fair catches in this one. – Tony, Sports Bone TV - In the who cares Big East game of the week, Uconn attempts to continue their improbable jaunt through the BE. Rutgers by 8. – Chris, In The Bleachers - I am going to pick against the Huskies till they lose. I’ll be right one of these weeks. – Brian, In The Bleachers - Another great game. UConn showed they were for real with their surprising win last week. Rutgers has been reeling since their South Florida win. – Greg, Average Joe - Louisville and Temple are tied for most points scored against the Huskies, with 17. They held South Florida to 15. This is a solid defense that can handle some Rice. – Jim, Football Frontier - I have still little idea who UConn really is, but they beat South Florida last week, so why pick against them? - Jon, Corn Nation Wisconsin (8%) at Ohio State (92%) - Please!!!!! Please = Me doing a song about Cheatypants McSweatervest. – John, Bastard Sons of Pinfall Marks - The Buckeyes haven't been flashy, just devastatingly consistent. – Greg, Average Joe - OSU seems poised for another undefeated regular season/blowout bowl loss type of year. OSU by 13. – Chris, In The Bleachers - Ohio State -- I think that all of the criticism that the Buckeyes have been receiving will serve to unite the team down the stretch. – Charlie, In The Bleachers - Ohio State. Probably the closest thing the Buckeyes get to a real test until the BCS title game. – Jim, Football Frontier LSU (85%) at Alabama (15%) - Louisiana State. It will be difficult, because it's on the road, the SEC championship is at stake, and the Tide has had a week off. But LSU has been the top team in the country to date, and Alabama has been lucky. – Jim, Football Frontier - Elimination day out West. Alabama will be one huge orgasm if Nicky wins this game. No truth to the rumors that Saban will leave at the end of the year to coach Hoover High. LSU by 24. – Chris, In The Bleachers - Alabama, Saban’s Revenge!! - Tony, Sports Bone TV - LSU’s defense will prove that John Parker can lose. – Brian, In The Bleachers - Saban is a great coach, but I don't think he can gameplan against the Tiger juggernaut. – Greg, Average Joe Arizona State (8%) at Oregon (92%) - Carpenter is less than 100%, but even at 100% I don’t think the Sun Devils can pull this off. Dixon will have a big day and he’ll be the front runner for the Heisman. – Brian, In The Bleachers - Great defense usually wins out over great offense. The Sun Devil's bring a Top 10 D to match up with the Ducks' Top 10 O. – Greg, Average Joe - Oregon -- The Sun Devils dream season comes to a screeching halt, as Pac 10 teams continue to beat up on one another. – Charlie, In The Bleachers - Winner gets the PAC 10. Loser may still get the PAC 10, but can say goodbye to the BCS. Since I can't name a single person on the ASU team (maybe Rudy Carpenter?), and I can name 2 on Oregon, that makes my choice simple. Oregon by 26. – Chris, In The Bleachers - Oregon. Just too much offense for the Devils to handle. Consider this a play-in game for the right to meet LSU in January. – Jim, Football Frontier The "Experts’" Picks for This Week's Games
