ROAAAARRR!!!
If we were talking basketball, it would not be far fetched to believe that the Jayhawks would be 6-0 and ranked in the Top 25. But this is football, and when discussing the team you have to end it with some sort of Mangino joke. Their top win so far is over Kansas State but still the voters don't give them much respect. Kansas are at home this week against Baylor and here is the statistic of the week: the last time both Kansas and Missouri were 5-0 at the same point in the season was 1905.
Mizzou poses a great offense that Oklahoma hasn’t seen. OU’s only tests have been with Texas, Colorado, and Miami. Oklahoma beat the hell out of Miami. I hadn’t seen an ass whipping like that since my dad beat the shit out of my brother for pissing in the washing machine when we were kids.Another team not getting respect in the polls is UConn, maybe that is because their best win to date is against a struggling Pitt Panther teams, but Coach Randy Edsall is not too worried. The Huskies face another surprise team when the travel to play Virginia.
"“There’s no sense talking about that because there’s nothing there,” Edsall said. “Nothing matters to us except winning … I don’t even want to talk about anything else.”As I said during the podcast, the team that is sneaking up the poll quietly is Ohio State. They put a nice beating on Purdue last week, giving up only 7 points to an offense that averaged over 40 points per game before that week. The Buckeyes sit at #3 in the polls and have a mini-bye week as they play in state rival Kent State. Around the Oval hands out its midseason awards for the Buckeye players.
With her recent move to California, we all know who she is pulling for
The team just ahead of Ohio State is the Cal Bears. The Bears are led by an explosive offense with Nate Longshore at quarterback. This week the Bears play the Beavers of Oregon State. My good friend Chris Mason would love to discuss how a Bear could beat a Beaver in a fight, but since he is not here you are going to have to settle for the recent history of this match up via The Band is Out on the Field.
Weis hopes the Gipper has one good game left in him
Notre Dame fans are all breathing a sigh of relief after picking up their first victory last week against UCLA. Now I hear that the body of the late George Gipp has been dug up for DNA Testing. This just shows that Irish fans really had losing and love to dig up the past. Matt Ryan | < Prev | Next > |
