Operation Pick Em - Week 6 Picks

Written by In The Bleachers on .

There are eight games this week which will help seperate the pack a little bit. The percentages represent who got picked to win more by the pick 'em crew. Wisconsin (69%) at Illinois (31%) - Same ol', same ol' for Badger football. Line up, pound the ball and when the other team gets tired, throw it over their heads for the long TD. – Jon Johnston, Corn Nation - This year we've seen everything happen that we never actually thought would happen. I'm betting on most people going with Illinois on this one, which is exactly why I'm going with the Badgers on the road. – Adam Nettina, Pitch Right Sports - This is going to be a close, really hard hitting game. I like the Illini on this one because they are home and I think they have something magical going this season. - Brian Sakowski, In The Bleachers - With the way they have played this season, I'm not even sure it would be an upset to see Wisconsin lose. - Charlie Swager, In The Bleachers - Illinois might pull the upset, but I think the Badgers are just a bit too strong, and they get a late score for the win. - Greg Gowins, Average Joe - Wisconsin. Time to earn their ranking. – John Radcliff, Bastard Son of Pitfall Marks Oklahoma (85%) vs Texas (15%) - I think last week’s Oklahoma game was an anomaly. Colt McCoy will struggle and the Sooners will win. - Brian, In The Bleachers - Oklahoma is still one of the five best teams in the nation. I think they will prove it by the end of the season. – Charlie, In The Bleachers - THis went from the biggest game of the year to WHO CARES, Oklahoma. – Tony, Sportsbone TV - This game may mean more this week, as the loser is completely out of any potential national championship game. The winner at least has an outside shot at the title. Is Sam Bradford really this year's Colt McCoy, or is Colt McCoy still Colt McCoy. Oklahoma by 8. – Chris, In The Bleachers. - This one is either going to be an OU blowout, or a close Texas win. I don't see Texas getting four passes picked off of tips at the line and two kick returns for TDs against them again this week. - Greg, Average Joe and Texas Fan - Texas has no answers. The only issue that Oklahoma has is that they got too big for their own britches. It won't happen again this season. – Jon, Corn Nation Georgia (92%) at Tennessee (8%) - First Loss in a string that leads to Phillip Fulmer being fired by the end of the year.. – Tony, Sports Bone TV - The Dawgs are looking to bounce back against a pedestrian Vols team. – Greg, Average Joe Virginia Tech (23%) at Clemson (77%) - After Clemson's outing last week, this could be the ugliest game of the season. The Tigers need to come out and establish the run at all costs, otherwise, Cullen Harper will fold again. If VT wins, it will be because of their defense. Clemson by 11. – Chris, In The Bleachers - If LSU averaged 7.2 yards per rush, what do you think Clemson is going to average with two great backs? Clemson by 14. – Brian, In The Bleachers - This one looks to be a close, defensive battle. I think Clemson gets a late score to win at home. - Greg Gowins, Average Joe. - Virginia Tech's first real test since the LSU game. I have a tough time envisioning the Hokies keeping up with Clemson on offense. –Charlie, In The Bleachers - I haven't been sold on VT all year and I'm not about to ump on the bandwagon now. Florida @ LSU- Auburn exposed some weaknesses in Florida's game, most notably an over-reliance on Tim Tebow. LSU isn't beyond losing this year, but I don't see them going down at home. – Adam, Pitch Right Florida (0%) at LSU (100%) - Auburn exposed some weaknesses in Florida's game, most notably an over-reliance on Tim Tebow. LSU isn't beyond losing this year, but I don't see them going down at home. - Adam, Pitch Right - Florida might be the only team that can athletically keep up with LSU in the SEC, but it won’t be enough to win in LSU. – Brian, In The Bleachers - LSU at home at night? - Jon, Corn Nation - Hard to believe, but Florida is going to be on a two game losing streak heading out of the weekend. - Greg, Average Joe - If LSU will lose, its going to come now or Auburn. I say they just follow the Auburn plan: Annoy Tim Jesus and let him and Harvin have a few plays, but cut off everyone else. Florida has a solid run defense, so a win will have to come from Matt Flynn. LSU by 7. - Chris, In The Bleachers Ohio State (85%) at Purdue (15%) - I have no clue about Purdue or OSU. OSU by 16. – Chris, In The Bleachers - Purdue - Please if there is a God, this has to happen!!!– John, Bastard Son of Pitfall Marks - The Buckeyes are a young team but no one in the league has more talent than they do. Historically Purdue has started out strong against weaker play, but once they meet up with the big boys they come back to earth. Purdue will not get to 40, but the Ohio State defense will not hold them under 14. The Buckeyes offense will do just enough to win and Chris Wells will be a big reason why. – Brian, In The Bleachers - Purdue is a solid team this year, but Ohio State is the more complete team at this point. – Adam, Pitch Right - Ohio State. Ohio State has a defense. Purdue has not yet seen a real defense and let's face it, they're still Purdue. – Jon, Corn Nation - As much as I am not looking forward to seeing Kirk Herbstreit fawn over them, while pretending to be impartial, it is clear to me that the Buckeyes' offense is drastically improving as the year goes on. They could be peaking at the right time. – Charlie, In The Bleachers - Purdue has looked really good this season. I think they jump out to an early lead, but OSU sticks to Tressel-ball and grinds out a victory. – Greg, Average Joe - Purdue is going to take advantage of a overrated Buckeyes Defense. – Tony, Sports Bone TV Cincinnati (54%) at Rutgers (46%) - The coach starts to turn into a pumpkin for Cincinnati's cinderella season, as Rutgers gives them a wakeup call. – Greg, Average Joe - Is the Nasti this year's Rutgers? No... not really. Rutgers by 14. – Chris, In The Bleachers - After losing to Cinci last season and coming off the loss to Maryland, I have to think that the Scarlet Knights have substantial motivation to win this one. – Adam, Pitch Right - Brian Kelly will be in the conversation for national coach of the year with a win here. Rutgers will need to rebound from a catastrophic loss last week, but I think the Bearcats matches up very favorably to the Scarlet Knights. – Charile, In The Bleachers - Rutgers - Cincy caught them off guard last year after the Louisville upset. Revenge is key here. –Tony, Sports Bone TV Nebraska (38%) at Missouri (62%) - Homer Alert! Neither defense can play football. Both offenses have many weapons. The fact that it's a night game in Columbia shouldn't scare anyone that much. Most people will pick Missouri to win this game and they're probably right. However, I am a homer. I will not add to the negativity. Nebraska will run the ball all over Missouri, keeping their potent offense off the field. Nebraska 31, Missouri 28. – Jon, Corn Nation - With out of conference games against Southern Cal and Wake Forest, Nebraska is battle tested and has faced and been able to measure itself against top competition. – Charlie, In The Bleachers - Neither defense can do much of anything, so I just flipped a coin on this one. Actually I just went with the home team, but flipping a coin sounded better. – Adam, Pitch Right - Is this Gary Pinkel's year? Probably not... although that must mean its Bill Callahan's... shudders... Nebraska by 14. – Chris, In The Bleachers - The Huskers have faced stiffer competition and I have said it from the beginning of the year that the Tigers are frauds. – Brian, In The Bleachers - After a couple of shaky games, Nebraska needs to pull it together, otherwise Chase Daniel is going to use home field advantage to take control of the Big 12 North. – Greg, Average Joe The "Experts" Picks for This Week's Games
