50 Best of the Non-BCS: Number 3
#3: CB Kyle Wilson, Boise State
The Verdict: One of the most dynamic athletes to ever play in the WAC conference, Wilson did a little bit of everything for the Broncos last season, earning All-Conference honors at the cornerback position while also gathering Second Team All-WAC status as a punt returner. Wilson finished the season with three punt returns for touchdowns - the most of any player in the nation, and was second in the conference in average yards per return. An exceptional one-on-one cover corner who shows the ability to matchup with virtually any receiver in the country, Wilson also recorded five interceptions a season ago, and finished off the 2008 campaign with 10 pass breakups and 15 passes defended. A member of the initial Bronco Nagurski Watch List (given annually to the nation's top defender), Wilson runs the 40-yard dash in under 4.4 seconds and has also been named a defensive Team Captain heading into the season. A possible first day pick in next spring's NFL draft, Wilson gives Boise State an excellent shot to return to a BCS bowl game in 2009.
