One Sentence Predictions: 1st Bowl Edition

One sentence predictions had a pretty stellar season as a whole with a finishing record of 151-79 and a winning percentage of 65.7%. Not bad folks and now we set that record on the shelf and head out into the great unknown that is the bowl season.

So many factors go into picking bowl games that don't come into play during the regular season. In this first edition of the One Sentence Predictions: Bowl Game Editions there are some easy picks but most bowl games with tight spreads and that appear to be toss ups are that way for a reason.

First lets lay out these three bowl games of this first weekend so that we can get into what really helps determine how a team will play in their bowl games. Up first this weekend we tackle the New Mexico Bowl, St. Petersburg Bowl presented by Beef 'O' Brady's and the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. Yes, I looked up B'O'B's because I've never heard of the place in my life.

New Mexico Bowl:
Fresno State and Coach Pat Hill have been to two straight bowl games and will ride big play running back Ryan Matthews to a win over first year coach Dave Christensen; Fresno State 34 Wyoming 21.

St. Petersburg Bowl:
Central Florida essentially is playing a home game but Greg Schiano plays well in Florida and with a Rutgers team that has underachieved all season he sets the tone for the Big East bowl season; Rutgers 31 UCF 17.

New Orleans Bowl:
Two teams with high powered, exciting offenses should make this interesting with the "closer to home" Golden Eagles eeking one out on the legs of Damion Fletcher; Southern Mississippi 45 Middle Tennessee State 40.
