50 Best of the Non-BCS: Number 22
#22: WR DeAndre Brown, Southern Miss

The Verdict: He may still be wearing a boot after a horrific leg injury to end the 2008 season, but the physical receiver out of Ocean Springs, Mississippi should be recovered in time to play for much of the 2009 season. It's a good thing for the Eagles too, as the 6-foot-6, 230-pound Brown established himself as a legitimate man amongst boys despite being only a freshman in 2008, hauling in 67 passes for 1,127 yards and 12 touchdowns. A former five star recruit by the Scout.com network, Brown shocked the college football recruiting world a season ago by committing to Southern Miss over offers from Florida, LSU, and a host of other BCS conference programs. A deep threat with legitimate 4.5 speed, Brown presents a mismatch to every cornerback within the conference, and is simply put the most dominate receiver in C-USA today. A likely first day draft pick in either the 2011 or 2012 draft, a healthy Brown helps make Southern Miss one of the non-BCS teams to keep an eye out for in 2009.
