50 Best on the Non-BCS: Number 16
#16: WR/KR/PR T.Y. Hilton, Florida International
The Verdict: Perhaps the most electrifying player in the Sun Belt Conference, the 5-foot-10, 175-pound Hilton came out of left field as a true freshman a season ago, in the process finishing third in the country in all-purpose yards per game (180.3) and second in the conference in receiving yards per game. A consensus Freshman All-American and First Team All-Sun Belt performer, Hilton was also named the conference's Freshman of the Year in 2008 after accounting for 12 total touchdowns (7 through the air, 2 on the ground, 2 returning, and 1passing.) An electrifying player with game-changing speed, Hilton was considered one of Miami's best athletes coming out of high school, and has drawn more than his fair share of comparisons to Florida's Percy Harvin. While slightly undersized, Hilton remains one of the best all-purpose athletes in college football.
