Turning The Page To 2010

Written by Michael Felder on .

Here it is folks this is our last "looking back" post for the 2009 season and the 2009-2010 bowl season. We're going to hit our thank you's and then get everyone squared away on the In The Bleachers offseason programming. Before we hit all of the Thank You's to the people who helped make 2009 such a great season let's make sure we help the folks in Haiti.

Earthquake

Unless you've been living in a cave you know about the earthquake that has rocked the tiny nation and with the deathtoll projected well over 100,000 people we need to do what we can to help. Here's several ways to donate, the choice is yours but please choose to give folks because every little bit helps:

Donate to the Red Cross

Donate to Haitian native and NBA player Samuel Dalembert's Charity

Donate to Partners in Health, an organization dedicated to providing healthcare in Haiti

100% of UNICEF donations go towards emergency relief efforts

Donate to Doctors Without Borders

Also folks, if you're on the go text Haiti to 90999 and you'll donate $10 to the Red Cross' Haitian relief aid. With six ways to donate right in front of you there's no reason not to lend a hand in this time of need.

Shifting gears to wrapping up this season we'd like to first say thank you to all the readers who come to the site everyday checking out our content. You've made the season great and we appreciate all the comments. A special congrats to Gridmaven and Grayhound winners of the regular season and bowl pick 'em contests respectively.

In addition to thanking you folks who come and read the site In The Bleachers also wants to extend a special thank you to all the guests on the podcast during the season. So thank you to Vahe Gregorian from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch , Captain Scott Edelman, Clark Nelson of The ACC and SEC Blog (joined me on the lost podcast), Mark Noe from CFB-Campus, Jeremy Mauss of MWC Connection and Stewart Mandel from Sports Illustrated. They came on and made the 2009 season great.

In The Bleachers Podcast

Lastly a special thanks to our prize providers. foneGear helped out by allowing us to give away some sweet team cell phone and smartphone cases to winners. The folks at Tailgate Barn not only helped us out in the Pick 'Em contests with some nice Big 10 themed gear but we also have a couple more prizes in our chest and will be running contests during the offseason to keep you guys engaged with the site.

With the Thank You's out of the way let's lay out what you can expect in the next few months from In The Bleachers:

We've shortened the podcast to give you 3 twenty minute quick hitters a week. Research shows they're more user friendly and it allows Rob Harley and myself to hit on topics within a day or two of their occurence.

In addition to the shortened podcast we're adding in a mailbag feature. Send your questions in to InTheBleachers AT Gmail DOT Com or HarleyInTheHuddle AT Hotmail DOT Com. You can also hit either of your loyal co-hosts on twitter @RobHarley34 or @InTheBleachers. We'll answer all of them and the good questions will get on the podcast and we'll shoot you something from the prize coffers.

Cover-2

Since the rest of the college football world is getting into their offseason strength and conditioning programs here at In The Bleachers we're going to do a little of the same. Look for articles and podcasts that hit on recruiting, the NFL draft, football philosophy, strategy as well as our personal stances on issues that are pertinent to the college game.

We'll be running a liveblog all day for National Signing and day and are toying with the idea of knocking out a podcast after the dust settles on the recruiting world. Hit us on the email or @InTheBleachers with your thoughts on recruiting coverage.

Get your shoes tied up, your wristbands on and your mind right we're going into the offseason program hard.
