Wednesday Live Chat: Dissecting the Cam Newton Saga and Predictions

Written by Michael Felder on .

We're entering a full week on the Cam Newton rumor and after dropping our preliminary thoughts we now have the same view of this situation as we had Thursday-Friday when the initial story broke. The view is murky, perhaps more so now than it was late last week as John Bond has removed himself as a primary source and become a third or fourth hand account of the Kenny Rogers solicitation for $180,000.

Now we also have rumors linking both Mississippi State and Florida to the release of information regarding Cam Newton. Academic information surfaced that, in my opinion, has zero bearing on the case, is now released to the public, contrary to the standards of FERPA currently in place. This is dirty pool all around and the scenario is ugly with all of the finger pointing going around.

To make this more complicated we have the Heisman talk coming into play as folks like Thayer Evans and Mike Bianchi among other have started to trumpet against the young man's candidacy for the award. I'm sure that debate will get heated as we discuss whether or not Cam is "worthy" of the Heisman.

We'll also discuss possible ramifications on the small scale for Auburn as well as the national BCS picture and even recruiting.

Of course folks, we've got weekly predictions for the Slate of Eight and any other games that you want to get the chat's thoughts on.

Stop by folks, we roll at 4:30et same as always and that means bring your thoughts and your funny. If you can't make it to the live chat then drop some thoughts on twitter and we'll be sure to get them into the conversation.
