Wednesday Live Chat: Talking In-Season Rivalries and of course Predictions

Written by Michael Felder on .

So folks, with the Red River Shootout looming large on the horizon we've decided to use this week to discuss those big time in-season rivalries that we all love. That's right folks, since we're all college football junkies here why not take this week as an excuse to get right into what matter the most; the teams we cherish beating more than anything else. We're making this Rivalry Week segment a two week affair which means we'll hit it now and again during the traditional Rivalry Week folks.

Yes I said Shootout. I refuse to go all PC and say "Red River Rivalry" so take that.

Red River Shootout

With that said here is the one rule to our opening question What's The Best Rivalry:

-No end of season rivalry games. That means UGA-GT, Ohio State-Michigan, Oregon-Oregon State, USC-Cal, Pitt-West Virginia and the like are not included here. We're talking Bama-Tenn, OU-Texas, Michigan-Notre Dame, Georgia-Florida and all the rest of those games that happen before the official rivalry week.

This should get spicy folks and I'm looking forward to plenty of surly conversation and comments flying back and forth. If you bring some weak non-rivalry talk in here you will be sent home.

Also in this edition of the Wednesday Live Chat we've got our standard prediction set that we'll run through using this week's Slate of Eight games with the podcast featuring Allen Kenney from the Sooner site Blatant Homerism as our guide. You all have my choices and I don't believe that I'm going to waver; although Mark Dantonio's return to coaching has got me itching to pull the finger on the school with one of the most underrated sayings out there. Sparty On!

Come on and join us folks we're ready to have a little fun. 4:30et time we'll all be ready to party so bring your drinks, your computer and your jokes. If you're at work, drink some more water and remember that we're all just waiting for that Thursday night college football fix the way you are.
