Friday, It's So Fetch! Vol. 10
Hello folks, we're back for another Fetch Friday folks. I'm going to be honest, not much as happened in the way of Fetch folks. I got back from the ATL and as far as fetch this week we've got Laura McKeeman leading off with not just her podcast but the fact that she is competing in the Miss Florida Pageant. That's about as fancy as it gets so good luck to her and we'll be popping champagne like we won the championship game, win or not win. Because no one associated with ITB ever really loses, we just "not win" some times, and even that is rare.
Our biggest and most critical fetch moment after a little newcomer to fetch:
Yes, Beyonce. She is awesome and if you followed me during the season then you know I'm a tremendous fan of her DirectTV commercial work and upgrading.
The US Women's Nation Team goes off this weekend on Sunday at 11:30am which gives you ample time to get up, get some breakfast or do what I'm debating doing, getting to a bar to watch the team play. Yeah, that's right, provided I can find allies, I'll be enjoying the soccer with a beer just like folks did a year ago with the men's. I'm a women's soccer fan, just a fact of the matter and seeing us square off against Brazil is equal parts exciting and horrifying because those soccer divas are absolutely filthy good.
I'm a Hope Solo fan, have been since she bossed up on Briana Scurry and bogus decision to pull her that resulted in a 4-0 thumping by Brazil. Abby Wambach is a G amongst G's; seriously if you're into competition I don't understand how someone can not like her. Obviously Heather O'Reilly and Toben Heath (who never really plays) are my faves given their Carolina connection.
Before you spout off about women's sports and all save it for someone who cares. I like them. Got turned on to women's soccer in 1999 (like the rest of America) when my high school best friend's girlfriend made us watch it. Sat down and came away thinking, wow, they're really damn good. Good competition and fun to watch, it was a win-win for me.
And to clear this up right now because it comes up every single time I try to watch a game; it isn't about looks. Please spare me the "Alex Morgan is so hot" tweet in the middle of the game because I don't care. I just want our ladies to win and play hard soccer and kick ass while doing it. Women don't send me random "wow look at how hot football player X is" tweets during the game.
Point is if you don't like soccer or women's soccer don't watch. There's a world of models and porn on the internet put up specifically for you to ogle their appearance; why waste your time watching an event you don't care about for a glimpse of a girl you think is hot?
Abby Wambach has got to ball, hopefully Heather will be back Sunday and if Megan Rapinoe and Lauren Cheney can find their touch we'll be ok, I hope. Oh and the commercials are so badass.
