Written by In The Bleachers on .

On this week's In The Bleachers Podcast Adam Caparell who has been covering college football for CBS, CSTV, and now NCAA.com joins us to discuss the recently released USA Today Coaches poll.  With Adam Nettina on vacation, ITB writer Michael Felder steps in as co-host along with Brian Sakowski this week.  The trio talk about teams who are ranked too high and those who maybe should have gotten a few more votes.

In the second half of the podcast the SEC conference is previewed.  The consensus is that the SEC West could be a good race between Mississippi, LSU, and Alabama; while the SEC East seems to be Florida's to lose.  Also in this podcast, we talk about the job Steve Spurrier is doing in South Carolina, and the chances Tennessee has in making a bowl game this season.

In The Bleachers Podcast - Patrick Stevens from the Washington Times talks ACC & Big East

Written by In The Bleachers on .

Fresh off from his trips to the ACC and Big East Media Days, Patrick Stevens of the Washington Times takes the time to breakdown almost every team in those conferences in this week's edition of the In The Bleachers Podcast.  In this hour and fifteen minute podcast, Patrick talks about how the Big East is really up for grabs and even though there is no national title contender in the bunch, the conference as a whole is still solid.

When talking about the ACC, he notes that both Clemson and Virginia Tech are the front runners to make the conference title game, but other teams such as NC State, North Carolina, and Florida State could make their jobs tough. He also talks about the job Randy Shannon has done at Miami and makes a prediction when he thinks the Canes will make a turn for the better.

After listening to this podcast, make sure you head on over to Patrick's blog at The Washington Times called D1Scourse.

In The Bleachers Podcast - Jeremy Mauss from the MWC Talks Mountain West Football

Written by In The Bleachers on .

The Mountain West Conference sent five teams to bowl games last year, winning three of those contests.  The biggest bowl victory for this Non-BCS Conference came at the Sugar Bowl where Utah beat Alabama to cap off a perfect season.  The Utes are not the only Top 25 team in that conference as BYU and TCU look to build on a strong 2008 and take over the title as the best team in the Mountain West Conference.

In this week's In The Bleachers Podcast Jeremy Mauss from the Mountain West Conference Connection joins both Adam and Brian to preview the conference for the upcoming season.  Along with previewing each team, Jeremy tells them that the Mountain West is possibly looking to expand to "earn" an automatic BCS bid in the future, and has some breaking news on which BCS School Utah has just signed a deal with to play next season.

In The Bleachers Podcast - Peter Bean from BON Talks Big XII Football

Written by In The Bleachers on .

In this week's In The Bleachers Podcast, Adam and I are joined by Peter Bean, the man behind the Texas Longhorns blog, Burnt Orange Nation, and the co-host of EDSBS Live.  Besides talking about the strengths and weaknesses of the Longhorns, Peter also talks how this season's Oklahoma State team could parallel the 2008 Texas Tech team.

The Big 12 North is also discussed in the second half of this 40 minute podcast.  We all agree that the North is a bit behind the South in quality of teams.  Nebraska, Kansas, and Colorado are the three teams the experts are picking to win the North, but will it come down to schedule and not talent for those teams?  Listen to the podcast and find out.
