A Special Podcast: Talking Army-Navy with Capt. Scott Eden

Written by Michael Felder on .

In The BleachersThis week marks the playing of one of the nation's most influential rivalry games; Army-Navy. Played in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Stadium this year's game embodies the pride, prestige and the honor that every Army-Navy game has personified throughout the decades. As a special treat this game can not only end Army's 7-game losing streak to the Midshipmen but it can also elevate the 5-6 Army squad to their first bowl appearance since 1996's Independence Bowl.

Joining us this morning, live from Iraq, is Captain Scott Eden a West Point grad and former Army football player. Hailing from Temescal Canyon HS in California Eden made the cross country trip to New York to play football for the Black Knights from 2001-2004.

He talks about his job in Iraq, the meaning of this game to the Army/Navy community as well as the impact first year coach Rich Ellerson is having on the Army football program. Its a great interview and a chance to put the spotlight on the Army/Navy contests, a game that is a great rivalry but also one that helps put college football in perspective.

A special thanks to Ashley Michael and the folks at Operation Tribute to Freedom for helping give ITB this opportunity and allowing us to give our listeners this gem of an interview.
