In The Bleachers Podcast: Brett Jensen Stops By To Talk ACC Spring Previews
Folks on this edition of the podcast we've got a special invited guests, someone who hails from my neck of the woods and whose radio and writing work I truly enjoy on the reg; Brett Jensen. Jensen, from the Southern Sports Journal and the sports radio station WFNZ in Charlotte stops by to talk all things ACC football. Brett's got a healthy understanding of the region from his work at the Charlotte Observer, ESPN, Fox Sports, Scout as well as at Clemson and Georgia.
We open the show up by discussing the state of the league as a whole, looking at the "Local Perception vs National Perception" of the ACC as a football conference. Jensen details what the league needs to really pull even with some of the other power conference and reminds us that the jury is still out on several ACC coaching hires such as Dabo Swinney and Tom O'Brien.
As Jensen and I get into team previews he sheds some light on some of each teams' woes as well as discussing some of their finer points. Virginia Tech, FSU and Georgia Tech are his favorites in the league but schools such as Boston College (he didn't leave you out!), North Carolina and Miami all have a shot at making some noise in the ACC in 2010.
And yes folks, we close out the show talking a little UNC-NC State as Tom O'Brien struggles overall but has beaten Butch 3 of 3 times. For NC State, TOB getting his first winning record in Raleigh is job one while in Chapel Hill Butch Davis mustn't lose to a far less talented NC State squad.
