In The Bleachers Podcast: Eric Galko of NFL House and the Optimum Scouting Department talks Big XII Prospects
This week we have our regular draft analyst on to kick off the Big XII week by talking about the conferences draft prospects. That's right, Eric Galko from NFL House and The Optimum Scouting Department drops in to school us on all prospects from the Big XII. We hit on everyone from the elite to the lower tiered guys and even discuss Colorado's utter lack of NFL caliber talent.
Galko and I work quickly into the Texas Longhorns' deep draft class by discussing the Earl Thomas vs Taylor Mays debate and why Thomas has drawn so many comparisons to Ed Reed. Galko hits on Colt McCoy's "Jeff Garcia"-like tendencies and then waxes philosophically on Sergio Kindle as the most pro ready 3-4 edge rusher in the 2010 draft.
The McCoy-Suh debate gets some light shed on it as both are truly set to be pro bowlers in their own, very different ways. Bradford and Gresham are discussed at length and I'll admit that I'm still not sold on either as sure things in the draft. Embarrassingly enough I completely forget that Oklahoma State has two of the best draft prospects on the Big XII board in Dez Bryant and Russell Okung BUT I rebound strong when we discuss the underrated merits of Zac Robinson.
