Written by Michael Felder on .

ITBGot a special bonus episode of the ITB Podcast here for you folks, please take note of the bonus sound effect that gets so awesome in there. We've got Russ Mitchell from the great Scout network site College Football News on to talk about all sorts of college football happenings. Be sure you go check out the new article by Russ concerning the "Last Days of Independence" as the conference movement starts to come to a head. There's plenty more to this chat as we kick it off rehashing the weekends events starting with the Dawgs disappointing defeat at the hands of the Boise State Broncos.

Before the Broncos fans get into a tizzy, losing to Boise State wasn't the problem, it was the way Georgia looked as a team as they lost. We also get into the LSU-Oregon game as the Ducks got pushed around up front by the Bayou Bengals. Russ and I also slide a little Bama discussion in their as the Tide's rushing effort was the glaring issue during their loss to Kent State.

Talking independence is a big deal as Notre Dame and BYU sit in the "indie lane" with BCS hopes but Russ talks about why the push towards Super Conferences might force teams to make a decision where "making their own money" is in direct opposition to being included in the post season. Stratification in football comes up as the "have nots" competing with the ultimate "haves" has, it seems, reached critical mass.

Finally we talk some Oklahoma at Florida State, a game we're all excited about, to end the show. Russ has got strong convictions with regards to OU's superiority and the chatter that ensues is definitely a great listen.
